My Background
Hi, I’m Beca!
I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) speech-language pathologist (SLP) and the founder of Talk & Bloom®. For over 25 years, I’ve supported infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children with a wide range of speech, language, and social-communication challenges—helping them connect with others, communicate with confidence, and thrive.
I’ve worked in government-funded preschool programs, private clinical settings, and interdisciplinary teams in both the Greater Toronto Area and abroad, collaborating closely with professionals from many different backgrounds.
Key Areas of Support
I bring extensive experience in:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social communication difficulties across all levels of ability
- Early intervention for infants and toddlers at risk of or showing developmental delays, including Neonatal Follow-Up Clinics
- Assessment and treatment of children with language delays and disorders and late talking, ADHD language processing disorders, and learning disabilities
- Family-centered, play-based therapy that empowers caregivers to be active partners in their child’s progress
My Approach
My approach is play-based, inclusive, and grounded in your child’s unique strengths and interests. I see parents as the experts on their children, and I partner with you to create strategies that truly align with your child’s needs and your family’s
values.
The strategies I teach are practical, natural, and easy to use at home and throughout your daily routines—because when techniques are meaningful and doable, real progress happens. I celebrate neurodiversity and honor each family’s culture and language. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you and your child feel understood, supported, and valued.
Community & Multicultural Work
Beyond clinical practice, I’m passionate about supporting multicultural and multilingual families. Some of my community work includes:
- Translating and editing the Spanish version of More Than Words®, a Hanen Centre guidebook for parents of children on the autism spectrum
- Collaborating with OSLA’s Multicultural Multilingual Interest Group to translate and adapt the parent handout “Reading Develops Language Skills” into Spanish
At Talk & Bloom®, every child is met with understanding, every family is valued, and every step forward is celebrated.
Let’s work together to help your child find their voice and thrive—in any language.
